Dr. Pieter Vos is Professor of Military Chaplaincy Studies and Associate Professor of Ethics at the Protestant Theological University, Groningen and Amsterdam respectively. He is also Director of the International Reformed Theological Institute (IRTI). From 2006 till 2012 he held the chair of Moral Formation (Lectoraat Morele Vorming) at VIAA, University of Applied Sciences in Zwolle. Pieter Vos is married to Trijnie Koorn; they have three children: Thomas, Maartje and Emma, and live in Zwolle, the Netherlands. In his research Pieter Vos focuses on questions of moral formation and work in the life course, especially from virtue ethical and existential ethical perspectives, and related to various social and professional practices, military chaplaincy and education in particular. As a Kierkegaard-expert he is member of the editorial board Redactieraad Kierkegaard Werken aimed at publishing Kierkegaard's works in Dutch translation (publisher Damon). He is also member of the editorial boards of Studies in Reformed Theology, the Dutch popular philosophical magazine Sophie, and the Dutch theological journal Kerk en theologie.
